Canadian country sensation Lindi Ortega has announced her return to Australia in October.

With headline shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide and a nationwide tour with American singer/songwriter Justin Townes Earle and rising star Marlon Williams. She will also perform at the inaugural Out On The Weekend Festival in Melbourne.

Ortega has also released a new video for ‘Lived and Died Alone’, one of the stand out tracks from her acclaimed album Tin Star.

This will be Ortega’s second Australian tour, after selling out shows in Sydney and Melbourne in April, and blowing away audiences at Boogie, Gumball and National Folk Festival. Beat Magazine reviewed her Melbourne show glowing “every article about Lindi Ortega raises reference to Emmy-Lou Harris or Dolly Parton. This is not hyperbole. She really is that good”.

Recently crowned Roots Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards, Ortega’s latest album Tin Star has received critical acclaim the world over, nominated for a JUNO Award in Canada, and reaching top 50 in the US Country Charts.

Ortega has also become the face of a new wave of Country music, recently featuring alongside Taylor Swift in The Telegraph UK as the Nashville artists “who made the country capital hip again”.

“…she has displayed the voice of a young Emmylou Harris just discovering Dolly Parton, the willingness to be as old-fashioned as possible in sound and style, and a 21st-century knowing edge.” Sydney Morning Herald
“…spirited songwriting and gorgeous whiskey-and-honey voice…” —NPR

“Heartfelt and mood-inducing, a uniquely bluesy twist on pre-outlaw country” — Billboard Magazine

“Untamed instincts, but classic bones.” — New York Times
