EILEN JEWELL 2016
Having played dates in Australia with Jason Isbell earlier in 2016, it is with massive delight that Love Police Touring announce that superb singer-songwriter Eilen Jewell and her band will return to Australia in November 2016.
They will play the Newtown Social Club on November 22, The Corner Hotel, Melbourne on November 24 and Meeniyan Town Hall on November 25. Eilen Jewell and band will also perform at the Mullum Music Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival.
Tickets for all headline shows will go on sale Thursday, September 8.
Opening for Eilen at Newtown Social Club will be Jason Walker & Band, at The Corner Hotel will be The Weeping Willows and Small Town Romance who will also open for Eilen at Meeniyan Town Hall.
Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Eilen Jewell is a remarkable singer-songwriter whose honesty, confidence, and respect permeates her music dating back to her self-released Boundary County album in 2006.
Since then, she has recorded five studio albums with her road-tested touring band, and two more as a member of the Boston-based gospel-charged Sacred Shakers, which includes that well-oiled band at it’s core. Her work has won many fans including multiple Oscar winner Tom Hanks who included Heartache Boulevard in his must listen to list.
Her latest album, Sundown Over Ghost Town, is a masterful culmination of Jewell’s work to date and had critics raving including American Songwriter Magazine – “An undiscovered gem…a layered, shimmering pearl of an album that shines like cut crystal.” And this from Pop Matters – “8 stars… expressive grace and imagery… barbed details… Her melodies create sonic landscapes, mostly of the mythic American West where human beings have the perspective of big open spaces to compare themselves with a wide-screen setting…”
