Robert Ellis & Jonny Fritz 2014

In the singular both Americana artist Robert Ellis and Alt country artist Jonny Fritz can pack a punch with their unique style of song writing and performing. But together this combination will be formidable and so it is with great pleasure that Love Police announce that Robert Ellis and Jonny Fritz will tour together for some very special shows in October including the newly created and announced Americana festival Out On The Weekend.

This will be Robert’s third trip to the great southern land having toured here twice in 2013 with Justin Townes Earle and later with Cory Chisel. He earned widespread acclaim for his debut album Photographs (New West) and it’s follow up The Lights from the Chemical Plant received 4\5 star review from americansongwriter.com and “If Robert Ellis solidified himself on Photographs as a champion of classic troubadour-y country, he’s letting us know with The Lights From the Chemical Plant that we sold him short.”

Named by Rollingstone as an Artist to watch in 2013 Jonny Fritz is an enigma wrapped up in cowboy boots and a country swagger. His “debut’ album (actually his third but his first under his birth name) ‘Dad Country’ was produced by Dawes member Taylor Goldsmith and recorded at Jackson Browne’s Los Angeles studio. It was applauded on it’s release in 2013 with American Songwriter stating, “Fritz doesn’t take most things too seriously. Except his music, of which this is some of his best.“ and No Depression “t’s already gone into the file for albums of the year.”
